Google maps streetview is finally here! Albeit in a somewhat limited form (only in Nanaimo and Victoria) though the nanaimo street view area spreads all the way up to nanoose bay which is pretty impressive. Go forth and enjoy!

Ever reminisce about how awesome video games used to be (and how difficult?) well now you can go back in time and play all (or most anyways) of your old favorites at Abandonia. You are not hardcore unless you can finish your old favorite on the hardest setting!
I've been playing around with grooveshark again lately, and they've finally updated the site! It used to be a great idea that was impossible to use because the music would keep dropping out and it was a bit tricky to get the tracks arranged how you wanted them but with the redesign it is a great idea that has been well implemented, plus they offer RSS feeds for recently favorited, and listened to songs on the site, so I've added those to my home page for you all to enjoy. This is definitely a site worth checking out.
Many things I say daily are references to TV shows, webcomics, memes, and online videos. I recently got a new job and my new co-workers are having a bit of trouble understanding me from time to time. This post is a list of some of the things that I find hilarious so people can watch them and then get all of my silly inside jokes! (He's a real doctor!)
Dr. Tran:
From Lone Sausage Productions, (here comes) Dr. Tran is the first (as far as I know) in a series of seriously twisted shorts mostly featuring the lovable little asian boy known to all as Dr. Tran! The outtakes section of the Dr. Tran website is not to be missed. Listen to the outakes after you've watched the first video for best results.
Don Hertzfeldt:
Rejected, Billy's Balloon, Ah L'Amour, Genre. A highly talented individual
Beardy Man:
And now for something completely different, just to mix this list up a little bit, 2 time UK Beatbox champion!
Weebls Stuff:
Mr. Weebl you make great animations. Some of them might annoy the heck out of you but you have to admit that the guy's got talent! It all started with badgers and kenya, and things really took off from there! Oh So many to choose from ! ! (every word in that sentence is a different link!)
Buffalax:
This guy takes bollywood music videos and adds subtitles for what he figures the words sound like in english. The first and most funny (imho) is this one. Even without the funny subtitles I think it's the best indian music video I've ever seen.
Zuiikin English:
This aparently is a way to learn english through exersize. More precisely according to wikipedia, It is a japanese television series originally aired in 1992 by Fuji Television. You used to be able to find these videos all over youtube but now it's not so easy.
Jabo0odyDubs:
This guy dubs over infomercials and makes them much more interesting and fun to watch (I know, I didn't think it was possible either)
Cute Kids:
David after Dentist, charlie bit me
Two Chinese Boys:
Who doesn't do this? The only difference here is a webcam and two friends who have very little shame ;)
GI Joe PSA's:
Fensler Films dubs over and remixed a bunch of the little public service announcements at the end of GI Joe episodes. These are quite odd and definitely a love it or hate it scenario. Here are a few of my favorites.
Ze Frank:
4 words. What a freakin' genious!
Internet People:
Now that I have spent all this time compiling the big ol' list of funny stuff on the internet, I remembered that it's been done before, and even better than I could.
Dan Meth is another video/animation/short maker out there who has done a few things for Channel Frederator (user submitted animated shorts). He has created an animated version of a similar list of fantastic internet memes and the people behind them. Some youtube user compiled a youtube playlist of all of the videos referenced in "Internet People". Another way of viewing that list is over at Rumors Daily
Disclaimer:
Now that you have read this whole post, I figure it's as good a time as any to say that you may find some of the above content offensive, annoying, boring or otherwise not to your liking.
w00t.com is a pretty fun site to follow, unfortunately they do not ship to canada. (boo!) However, they do have shirt.w00t.com.
Now, I don't like to wear clothing that you can see on people every day. shirt.w00t is perfect because the designs are totally original and it's not a widely known site. Plus they have some amazing designs available. Add it to your daily reading and some truely rad shirts can be yours for only $15 a piece

This site is getting messy as the viviti team keeps adding features that make me want to use them. It's time for a redesign with a simpler cleaner look. I'll probably have a page for the messy stuff (blogroll, tweets, last.fm music etc)
I could go for some suggestions right about now if anybody has any.
I feel like I should mention something personal as well here seeing as how this is my personal blog (and since I haven't updated in over a month)
I've been feeling kind of lame lately. Mostly physically. I've got mystery pains! One very dull one right under my sternum that feels a little like a light case of acid reflux, that one has gotten quite a bit better, a sore throat and most recently an occasional pokey throbbing right under the lower part of my ribcage on the right, those are infrequent and last only 10-20 seconds at a time.
Colin and Cori had a rad party last night though. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I am feeling lame and tired...
(time passes)
Clean kitchen and sushi! We just had our first ever sushi making experience. (I'll post pics of the sushi someday)
In other news I am a complete scatter brain and the cats are all sick. Maybe the clean kitchen will inspire me to clean up this site. (not)
At this very moment I am uploading 51 pictures to my flickr account! (rejoice!) There are pictures of the gay pride parade and some random old stuff that I should have posted a long time ago.
I've been feeling oddly uninspired and lame about my photography lately. It seems like I used to be able to take shots and be fairly happy with them and not have to change them very much at all before posting them for public viewing, but it seems like lately I've been having to correct them more and more to get something that I feel is actually worth sharing. I am constantly amping up colours and contrast and sharpness etc. Blah. I think it might have something to do with lightroom. A) it makes it so darn easy to enhance pictures like that and B) for some reason once lightroom actually fully loads a preview of your picture it looks all lame and washed out. For example, you import a picture into lightroom, click on it to get a preview and while it is rendering up the full size preview you can see that while blurry, the colours in your photo look pretty good and natural, but as soon as it's done loading the full preview the colours go all bland and crappy. I will give a prize to anyone who can tell me why this happens and how I can stop it from happening and ruining my fun.
In other news our friend Kim is in town this week to organize and throw her brothers wedding ceremony. Aline and Chris and I have been invited to photograph it, so that should be an interesting project for us all, plus I have 2 other possible projects comming up as well. Hopefully either before or with these I can become a bit more inspired and into it.
Oh yeah and people keep comming up to me at work and asking me to fix their computers and stuff. I have decided to start charging people for the privelidge but I'm not entirely sure how much I should be charging. Does anybody know anyone who is doing small IT contracting? Or what someone should charge for fixing up home computers etc?
Also, I'm sick, (thanks Chris, and sorry Aline).
I got this error today when trying to log in and fix some warranty claims :)
